Hot windy and chance of storms

An Excessive Heat Warning and Heat Advisory are in effect through Wednesday evening.

Severe storms are possible tonight and  again  Wednesday evening.

Today: Summer is here and it packed quite a punch as high temperatures are in the mid to upper 90s with dew points in the lower 70s. So it will feel like over 100 degrees in many spots. Along with that, winds are strong out of the southwest at 15-25 mph and gusting up to 35 mph at times. So as always with the heat, stay hydrated and if you have to be outside get as much shade as you can.

Tonight:  There is a chance of some strong to severe storms through the early morning hours. The main threats are large hail and damaging winds, but an isolated tornado is not out of the question. Low temperatures are in the low 70s and winds are out of the southwest around 10-15 mph.

Wednesday:  Showers and storms are likely and could be strong to severe during the afternoon and evening hours. Large hail, damaging winds, and an isolated tornado are all possible. The heat sticks around with high temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s with the heat index hitting 100 in some spots. Winds are breezy out of the southwest at 10-20 mph.

Rest of the Week: After Wednesday night we dry out and have sunny skies through Father's Day Weekend. Temperatures “cool” slightly to the mid and upper 80s but may return to the 90s by Sunday.
